Running Your First FileCensus Report

Ready to start analyzing your storage? Here’s how to run a basic report in FileCensus:

  1. Go to the Reports tab in the Console
  2. Choose a report type (e.g. Browse Paths, Group By Extension, Largest Files)
  3. Select your desired scope, catalog, and snapshot
  4. Apply any filters or layers if needed
  5. Click “Run Report”

The Browse Paths report is a great place to start - it gives you an overview of your file system structure.

Remember to rebuild your catalogs before running reports to ensure you have the latest data.
